Personal Jewelry Curator and Concierge Service

Founder-led, one-on-one jewelry curation for collectors who want pieces no one else owns.

Most jewelers sell you what's in the case. A personal jewelry curator starts with you, your collection, your wardrobe, the stones you already love, the gaps you want to fill, and then goes out and finds pieces that actually belong in your life.

That's what I do. I'm Ulka, founder of Ulka Rocks. For the last twelve years I've worked with a small roster of collectors the same way a great personal stylist works with a wardrobe: I learn what you already own, I learn what you're missing, and I source the next piece with intention. No subscription box. No curated drops. One collector, one curator, pieces chosen for you.

What personal jewelry curation means here

Personal jewelry curation is not gift-box shopping and it is not "we picked six pieces this month." It is a working relationship between you and a curator who knows your collection better than anyone else does.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • I keep a private profile of your collection. What you own, what you wear most, your stone preferences, metal tones, typical price band, the styles you've outgrown.
  • I shop international gem shows on your behalf. Tucson in February, JCK Las Vegas in late May, JIS Miami in October, JANY in New York. When I see a stone or a finished piece that fits your collection, I send it to you first, before it goes public.
  • I work with master artisans in Jaipur. If you want a custom piece built around a stone you've been chasing, I commission it directly with jewelers I've worked with for years. You see sketches, stone options, metal choices, and final renders before anything is made.
  • I track pieces you passed on. Six months later, when that same cut in a better stone crosses my table, I remember you wanted it and I send it.

How the service works

The process is deliberately slow. Building a distinctive collection is not a sprint.

  1. Intake call. Thirty to forty-five minutes, video. We talk through what you already own (photos welcome), what you wish you owned, the last three pieces you fell in love with, and what your collection is missing.
  2. Curator profile. I build a private document summarizing your preferences, sizes, metal tones, stone hierarchy, and the gaps you want to close. This becomes the filter for everything I look at on your behalf.
  3. Ongoing sourcing. Between shows, I work the trade. When I see a piece that fits, I send you a private note with photos, video, stone details, and pricing. You say yes, no, or "tell me more." No pressure, no countdowns.
  4. Show previews. Before each international gem show, you get a first look at what I'm hunting for you. During the show, you get live messages and videos as stones come across my table. Pieces you claim are held for you before they go public.
  5. Custom commissions. If there's a piece in your head that doesn't exist yet, we commission it. I source the stone, my Jaipur artisans build the setting, you approve each step. Lead time is usually eight to fourteen weeks.

Ulka's Expert Insight: The collectors who build the most distinctive collections are not the ones who buy the most. They are the ones who pass on eighty percent of what crosses the table and say yes, without hesitation, to the twenty percent that is genuinely theirs. Curation is subtraction before it is addition.

Who this service is for

This service is built for collectors who already know they love fine gemstone jewelry and want a single trusted source for adding to their collection. Most of my collectors are women in their forties through sixties who have stopped buying at mall jewelers and are tired of department-store fine jewelry that looks identical to the pieces their friends wear.

If you are looking for a diamond engagement ring, a gold chain, or a bridal suite, you would be better served by a traditional jeweler. What I do is gemstone-led: spinels, tourmalines, Paraiba, garnets, sapphires in unusual colors, opals with genuine fire, and one-of-a-kind cuts you will not find in a chain store.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a membership fee or monthly subscription?

No. There is no fee to work with me as your personal jewelry curator. You pay for the pieces you buy, at the same pricing any client would see. My time, profile-building, and ongoing sourcing are part of the service.

What price range do your collectors typically work in?

Pieces range from around seventy-five dollars for smaller accent items to twenty-five thousand and up for commissioned statement pieces and rare stones. Most collectors land in the five hundred to five thousand dollar range per piece. Custom commissions are quoted individually.

How is this different from your Instagram live shopping?

The live shows are public and fast. Personal curation is private, ongoing, and built around your specific collection. Many of my curated collectors also watch the lives, but the pieces I set aside for them come through private messages first, not on camera.

Do I have to buy a minimum number of pieces per year?

No. Some collectors buy one significant piece a year. Others buy six or eight. The goal is the right piece at the right moment, not a quota.

Can you help me build a collection from scratch?

Yes. New collectors are some of my favorite clients. We start with education (what stones are undervalued, what cuts hold their value, what colors photograph and wear well on you), then build the foundation pieces first before adding statement stones.

What happens if I don't like a piece you send me?

You say no. There is no obligation, no pressure, and no awkwardness. I track what you passed on and why, which makes the next piece I send a better fit.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, with full insurance. Most international collectors are in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Duty and customs vary by country and are handled transparently before shipping.

How do I get started?

Book an intake call through the shopping with Ulka page, or message me directly on Instagram. The first conversation is always free and always no-pressure.
