The Story & Styling

Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony, prized since antiquity for its rare color in the quartz family. Frederick the Great of Prussia famously favored chrysoprase in the 18th century, set into snuff boxes and signet rings still on display in European museums today.

Pairs naturally with cream, ivory, sage, and dusty rose. Reads polished with a blazer and effortless against a linen shift.

Ulka's Expert Insight: Chrysoprase gets its apple-green color from natural nickel inclusions in the chalcedony matrix. The most prized examples show even color across the strand without deeper white veining, and a graduated bead pattern carries the focal color naturally through the larger center stones.
